Michael Jacksons Comeback is 'BAD'
November 16th 2006 23:28
Last night in London, Michael Jackson was tipped to make his comeback appearance when he performed at the World Music Awards. Jackson, who was at the Awards to receive a Diamond Award for selilng in excess of 100 million albums was supposed to perform his 80's hit Thriller to close the show.
Instead, backed by a choir he sang only a few lines of "We Are the World". During the song, the music stopped and Michael told the crowd "There have been so many people who have loved me and stood by me. I love all the frans from the bottom of my heart". He then threw his jacket into the crowd and left the stage to loud boo's from disappointed fans.
US singer Chris Brown was left to perform Thriller on Jackson's behalf.
Organisers of the event are said to be furious after Jackson had made outrageous demands to appear at the event. According to one report, he demanded a private jet for himself, first class tickets for his entourage of 20. He also demanded an 18ft wall be temporarily erected around his hotel and asked her his own personal hair and makeup artist for the show.
Unfortunately for the event organisers, it wasn't only Michael Jacksons performance that was underwhelming. Lindsay Lohan was boo'd by audience members. The actress appeared visibly upset by her reception and actually abandoned her duties half-way through the night, leaving individual presenters to take over (supposedly she fell down some stairs and had to rest).
By all accounts the show was disorganised to say the least. Peaches Geldoff annnounced Shakira as World's Best Latin Artist. However, after 5 minutes when the stage was still empty, organisers seemed to remember that Shakira wasn't at the ceremony and sent Peaches back on stage who told the crowd that she had just spoken to Shakira on the phone and she was thrilled to win.
The Sugababes were expecting to be presenting an award, however they were never sent on stage.
Whew! What a winner of a show. Are we all disappointed that we didn't get to see it??

Michael Jackson was the shit in his day! He was bloody great. I think he should just leave music alone though now. He's left a great legacy.

I have mixed opinions about MJ. Although I agree that a lot of the flak he's been copping has been brought on by himself, I do feel a bit sorry for him.
In a way, Tom Cruise's current situation is quite similar in that once you are tagged by the media in a certain way, the wacko persona stays and will remain hard to get rid of.

I love your pic, it always makes me hungry when I see it!
Yeah, MJ had some great songs. Man in the Mirror is probably my all time favourite of his.
And yes, he has bought most of the flak he's copping on himself. I prefer to remember him as he was, instead of the odd dude he's become!

Yeah, Sony had a massive press conference recently which was a complete mockery. I think one of the reasons why Sony is expecting massive profit losses is because of how terrible their little conference went.
Here it is in one minute: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJElsNaC6yQ&mode=related&search=

Anyway, yeah, it was also disorganized/unscripted probably like this little music fest, but maybe not as badly.
Oh and it looks like it's 'misspell my name' day, cos you're the second one to call me 'admend'.

MJ is the biggest selling artist in history! The greatest in history! He is also the most famous person ever! Which makes hima huge target for tabloids and for getting sued! Don't believe all you hear people! All the news/tabloids/media are intereested in is rattings!
MJ is old now, his 48! Of coarse his not gonna have it in him like he did when he was 28! But he still can move, sing & make great hits! But his got children now, a family man. Since his been a father, his music career has been put on hold. He'll never give us his all now in music, his got a family to look after and raise. People forget that. But he is still as talented as ever!
