Tom Cruise Wishes He Was Powerful Again......

December 11th 2008 00:59
Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes
Dammit, I wanted to marry the MOST powerful man in Hollywood, not a ONCE powerful man!
Poor old Tom. It must be hard for you, no longer wielding the kind of power in Hollywood that you once used to.

In a famous interview in 2005, Tom Cruise took umbrage with NBC's Matt Lauer, calling him "glib". Once upon a time, that would have meant that Tommy Boy would never have lowered himself again to talking to Matt, or even NBC. After all, Tom didn't need the publicity.

Sadly, those days are past Tom. Next Monday, Tom will be sitting down for a live interview with Matt Lauer on the Today Show. Tom's planning to talk about his latest flop movie, Valkyrie, Katie and their kids. And just to ensure that he could someday come back to NBC when he desperately needed the publicity, Tom's people had him attend a "roast" for Matt Lauer earlier in the year. During the roast, Tom told the attendee's how close he and Matt are, launching zingers such as "you're the one who told me to talk about Katie Holmes on Oprah!"

Hmmm, Valkyrie's release date has been pushed back a number of times now, and now Tom's having to crawl back to NBC, hat in hand, to promote the film. Seriously, how bad is this movie going to blow?????

Do you think that poor old Tom spends his days researching how to build a time machine so he could go back in time and re-do that Oprah interview???????

Hi Kylie,

At the movies the other day, the Valkyrie preview came on. A group of teenage boys was sitting behind me and one of them said, "That looked alright." and one of his mates said, "But Tom Cruise is in it."

Really not so popular anymore.

Thanks for the post!
Have a good one,
Rusty.

Poor ol' Tom, a has-been in the making. I just wish he would retire. Every time I see that manic smile I want to smash him!
