The Hoff Goes Trailer Trash
September 26th 2006 01:01
I've said it before, I am a fan of The Hoff. But I have to be honest, I'm really starting to think twice about that as he appears to be sinking to all new lows of weird behaviour.
On Sunday night David Hasselhoff called the police saying that his daughter had "cut herself" in an apparent suicide attempt.
His daughter, Hayley, was taken to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation.
I hear you all saying, so what? What's so desperate about that? Well read on, intreprid reader......
Now, Pamela Bach, Hoff's ex wife, is claiming that The Hoff lied to authorities about his daughters suicide attempt. According to the ex, Hayley had been scratched by the family cat and was crying uncontrollably, and The Hoff called the police to get revenge on Pamela. According to Pamela, when she called The Hoff to tell him what happened to Hayley and to suggest that their daughter see a psychologist, he reported yelled down the phone to her "You're going down, I'm calling the police".
According to The Hoff's publicist, David became alarmed when his eldest daughter called him to tell him to say that her sister was bleeding. According to the publicist, the actor never reported the incident as a suicide attempt, but agreed that the operator he spoke with may have interpreted it that way.
There's certainly no love-lost between Bach and Hasselhoff. Their divorce has been a very bitter affair with Pamela claiming that The Hoff tricked her into signing a pre-nup half an hour before they wed, by telling her it was the marriage licence.
Who knows what really happened on Sunday night. Whatever it was though, I think that we can all agree that The Hoff is very quickly turning from a cult figure (those of us here in Australia love a tragic 80's throwback and have embraced The Hoff) into a sad parody of himself. Whiile publicising his autobiography only a few weeks ago, he made the comment that Princess Di had a crush on him. Not sure who he thought that was going to impress!!
I think it's only a matter of time before we see The Hoff on an episode of Jerry Springer!
