I'll Tell You What I Want, What I Really Really Want......

Spice Girls at the announcement of their world tour
Spice Girls Now

Is to see the Spice Girls!!!!!!!!! If like me, you've lived in hope that one day Sporty (Mel C), Baby (Emma Bunton), Scary (Mel B), Posh (Victoria Beckham), and Ginger (Geri Haliwell) Spices would get back together and do one last tour, then you're in luck my friend.

That's right, yesterday the Spice Girls announced that they would be reforming to do a World Tour. So far the tour includes 8 cities: Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New York, London, Cologne, Madrid, Beijing, Hong Kong, Sydney, Capetown and Buenos Aires.

There have been rumours for years that the Spice Girls, who broke up in 2001, would get back together, however say the girls "the time is right".

In order to get tickets for the shows, you have to register at The Spice Girls world tour site where random names will be chosen to buy tickets. Note, you can only register for tickets once (I hope the fact that I registered 4 times doesn't mean that I'm disqualified!!! You had to go digging to find out that bit of info!).

The tour will need to include a large creche, as by the time they start touring they'll have 7 infant spices between then (Mel B has 2, Vic Beckham has 3, Geri has 1 and Emma Bunton is heavily pregnant as we speak)..
Spice Girls
Spice Girls back then

Mock the Spice Girls all you want, but remember these women were the FIRST EVER females to grace the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. Before then, it was assumed that a female on the cover wouldn't sell as many copies. And Wannabe may not have been a brilliantly written song, but hey it gave us the line "I really really really wanna zigazig ah" (lyrical genius eh?). That song went to No 1 in 31 different countries and was the biggest selling debut single of all time. Their debut album was the fastest selling British album since the Beatles in Britain. In total they've sold 55 million albums

Not that I need to justify my love of the Spice Girls to you!l!!!!

Baby Spice, Emma Bunton, seems to have changed the least.
I used to have the hots for Scary Spice, Mel B, but she don't look as hot as she used to!

I've always loved Sporty the best. You're right though, Emma looks exactly the same.

Posh is just freaky looking!!!

Oh good lord, Kylie, I honestly thought you were being sarcastic in your love for Spice Girls! Actually, it would be interesting to see who would prove to be the most popular - I remember Baby Spice was always the most loved but then now that Posh has been at the forefront of entertainment news in the past....

Aimzter - never ever underestimate my love of all things truly trashy and tragic!!!! Hell, I even went to see the Spice Girls movie.....at the cinema's!!! I'm tragic I know.

I think these days Posh is the best known, but I don't think too many people actually like her. Should be interesting to see how they go now that they're older

I saw this on the news here in the States not more than FIVE minutes ago. I was always a Bangles man, tho!

Hey James, believe it or not I saw The Bangles when they came to Australia about 18 mths ago. They were still bloody good. Susannah Hoffs hadn't changed. Still looked hot.

I'm such a tragic 80's throwback!!!!

Bloody hell, if I'd seen that recent picture of them without being told who they were I don't think I'd have recognised them.

I agree with Bryn, Pregnant Spice seems to have changed the least.

Beckham Spice should swap names with Scary Spice ... she just freaks me out.

Have a good weekend KW.

Well...now that they're older and budweiser...they should be called the Seasoned Girls!

Posh - Sparsely (or dill...or nutmeg...)

Ginger - Sinnamon (or Chilli Flake)

Baby - Sageless (or Elderberry)

Scary - Any seed...(or Black Pepper)

Sporty - Sportegano or meLinie Seed)

....hee hee...

Will admit to a fondess for their 'Spice Up Your Life' song and I did like Geri/Ginger/Chilli Flake before she went all Halliunwell...

I saw the 'Wannabe' video clip a few weeks ago and one thing I noticed is that Posh/Victoria didn't get much camera time...nor did she sing much.

At least one thing hasn't changed.

Hope you had a great weekend KW.

(Go The Wallabies!!)

I would have recognized Baby and Beckham Spice but the other three...not at all. It has only been six years and really it is as they have been transported to the future in some mad "aging machine". That is some "Scary" shit to me. Although the Spice Girls are a guilty pleasure of mine but this

these women were the FIRST EVER females to grace the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. Before then, it was assumed that a female on the cover wouldn't sell as many copies.

was undeserved in my humble opinion. So many more deserving women. Very interesting and unexpected post. Thanks girlfriend.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the comments. Yes, I'm excited about the Spice Girls. It's wrong, but I love them. We'll see if I get tickets.

Hi Kylie!

LOL, I thought you were kidding too!! But hey--at least you have the guts to say so! I've seen people who dis them in public but listen in private. Good luck with the tickets.

I guess someone at Rolling Stone should have told Janis Joplin, Carole King, Rickie Lee Jones, Ann and Nancy Wilson, Joan Jett, Carly Simon, The Go-Gos, Patti Smith, Grace Slick, etc.etc.etc. that they weren't dressing sexy enough....

D. - I know can you believe that there hadn't been women on the cover before the Spice Girls? What b**shit. I mean, I love the Spice Girls......but they were hardly musical geniuses!!

Their movie though.....well that was a work of art. HAHAHAHA
