Forbes magazine has just released it's Top 20 Richest Women in Entertainment list. A veritable who's who of the most powerful women in Hollywood.
It takes a personal fortune of at least $45 Million to get into the top 20 list.
Oprah once again tops the list with an estimated personal fortune of $1.5 Billion dollars. Yes, billions. I can't even comprehend how much money that is!
In second place is Harry Potter author JK Rowling who has an estimates personal fortune of $1 Billion.
Domestic goddess, and former prison inmate, Martha Stewart is in the number 3 spot with an estimated fortune of $638 Million.
The Material Girl, Madonna, is the highest placed singer in the list, coming in at number 4 with an esitmated fortune of at least $325 Milliion....an estimate that Forbes considers to be very conservative.
Julia Roberts is the highest placed actress in the list, coming in at number 8 with a personal fortune of $140 Million.
The youngest entertainers in the list are the Olsen Twins, Mary-Kate and Ashley. At only 20 years of age, the twins are worth an estimated $100 Million. The twins are often thought to be worth in excess of a billion dollars, but according to Forbes, while their retail empire Dualstar has sales in excess of $1 Billiion the twins don't pocket all proceeds and will have to make do with their paltry $100 M.
Nicole Kidman is the only Australian in the list. With an estimated fortune of $60 million, she sits in 18th place.

Nina - I know that Judge Judy is worth an absolute fortune. I was surprised by Gisele though.
The estimates of their fortune is what they're worth as at today. So Nic must have high running costs!! LOL. Given she's earning about $15M a movie, I thought she'd be worth more than $60M at the moment.

I can't stand most of the women on the list either. JK Rowling, for the Harry Potter books and Sandra Bullock for Speed and While You Were Sleeping are the only people that I actually kind of like that make the list.

I think Celine's 3 years of shows in Vegas may be why she's so high on the list. Who knew there were people out there willing to pay money to hear her sing??
And I'm with you on Jen "the most boring woman in Hollywood" Aniston being in this list. Who would have guessed she'd be worth so much?
Ashley is probably the richer of the twins. Mary-Kate would have had a reasonably hefty bill for her anorexia treatment. I'm betting Ashley is taking that out of Mary-Kate's bottom line!

Oprah, I hate you !! She's a sorry excuse for a humanitarian. How many children does she sponsor ? Like, 10 ? She gives away cars and the like on her show, but most of them are courtesy of whoever, just for the promo.
That's how she gets so rich. Marketing. Her costs are very low and she generates maximum income. 10 sponsored children will cost her $500 (give or take) a month. She's worth 1.5 billion !!! why doesn't she sponsor 1 million children ? She can afford it. Don't like Dr. Phil either... ITS A FACADE EVERYONE !! A FACADE !!
