Pete Doherty Is FINALLY Going to Jail
April 9th 2008 07:36
Wow, the court system in London is almost as harsh on drug offenders as the legal system in Asia or Indonesia is, as Pete Doherty is finally finding out.
After one or two (or about 20!) run-ins with the law, Pete Doherty has FINALLY been sentenced to prison. Below is a brief timeline outlining Pete's trouble with the law to date. As a result of this past history and Pete's repeated failures at rehab, as well as his failure to follow the terms of his probation, Pete is going to spend........wait for it..........14 weeks in jail!!!
Holy shit! Paris Hilton spent 3 weeks in prison for driving without a licence (something Peter has been guilty of before too - see below).
Pete's Troubles With The Law
July 2003 - Pete is arrested and charged with burglary where he is sentenced to 6 months jail (sentence reduced to 2 months on appeal), he serves less than 1 month jail.
September 2004 - Pete is given a suspended sentence for possession of a flick knife
Feb 2005 - Pete is arrested on suspicion of assault & theft - no charges are laid.
October 2005 - Pete is arrested after police raid the BabyShambles tour bus - charges are later dropped.
Nov 2005 - Pete is arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs. He's released on bail and ordered to return to court in January 2006.
December 2005 - Pete arrested again on suspicion of possessing drugs.
10 Jan 2006 - Pete is charged with drug possession relating to his Nov 05 arrest. Pete pleads guilty.
14 Jan 2006 - Pete is arrested again for possession of drugs.
20 Jan 2006 - Pete pleased guilty to his December 05 arrest of drug possession.
26 Jan 2006 - Pete is arrested 3 times in one day for suspicion of possessing drugs. Pete is remanded into custody as the judge refuses to grant bail.
Feb 2006 - Pete is arrested for allegedly stealing a car and possessing drugs
April 2006 - Pete is put on a 2 yr supervision order and given 18 months of drug rehab following his January arrests. Later that night, Pete is arrested on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs with the intent to supply.
August 2006 - Pete arrested after being found with a crack pipe and a small amount of crack. Pete pleads guilty and is ordered to remain in rehab until his sentencing in 4 months time (yes, Pete has been in rehab for the last couple of months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Nov 2006 - Pete is arrested for suspicion of possessing crack cocaine. He is fined
May 2007 - Pete is arrested for suspicion of possessing a Class A drug. He is remanded on bail.
July 2007 - Pete pleads guilty to 4 counts of drug possession. The judge decides to send Pete to rehab for 4 months before sentencing him (this is less than 18 months after he was originally sentenced to 18 months rehab!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!).
October 2007 - Pete pleads gulity to driving uninsured while carrying heroin, ketamine, crack cocaine and cannabis. He is sentenced to a 4 month suspended sentence and given an 18 month supervision order and has to spend 12 months in rehab (cos that's worked so well so far!).
April 2008 - Pete violates the terms of terms of his probation when he misses a meeting with his probation team. He is ordered to spend 14 weeks in jail.
Seriously, I think that the London courts should be pleased with themselves. They've really shown that noone is above the law. If you get caught with drugs.......you will pay..............but only if you get caught 40 or 50 times.
You know, is it just me, or do the rest of you really want to send Pete on a holiday to Singapore, Bali or Thailand???? That'd show the retard.
