Pete Doherty - Luckiest Junkie Alive??

December 5th 2006 01:59
Is Pete Doherty the luckiest junkie in the world or what??

The former Libertines and now Babyshambles front man (and lets not forget, fiance' of Kate Moss) was recently arrested for possession of cocaine and heroin AGAIN. The sentence just handed down to him was a $1525 fine and he's been ordered not to drive for 4 months.

How does he do it? This year alone Pete has:
- been arrested for possessing less than 2 gms each of cocaine, heroin and cannabis, just 3 hours after he'd been sentenced to 2 years community service for previous drug related offenses
- arrested in August with a crackpipe and a small amount of crack cocaine. He plead guilty to all 5 counts. For his trouble, he was ordered to go into rehab or face jail time.

- in November he was fined $1485 for assaulting a BBC reporter
- now his current drug charges that he has been fined for (obviously his rehab is going swimmingly well!)

At what point does a judge finally just chuck his junkie ass in jail????

Man, and Russell Crowe was facing jail time for throwing a phone at someone?

Just goes to show no matter what celebrities do they will get away with it, well except for murder.

Then again OJ and that Blake guy got away with it, if they really did commit those crimes, which I personally think they did.

Yep, certainly seems to be one rule for celeb's and one for the pleb's....hehe, I rhymed!

I too think OJ definitely is guilty. Did you hear that he had a book and tv special in the works called "If I did it" which was supposedly a hypothetical from him saying how he would have killed Nicole if he'd done it??? Or as I like to think of it, 'gloating about how he killed someone and got away with it!'. Thankfully the Fox network came to their senses and realised it was incredibly tasteless so they cancelled the show.

I can't remember all the details of the Robert Blake trial (think his name is Robert....but I could be making that up. lol), but he probably did it!

Unbelievable!

Yeah it was Robert Blake, remember now.

Yeah heard about the book too, incredibly poor taste, if I was him I would be getting on with the rest of my life rather than reflecting on the past and trying to benefit financially from something so gruesome.

Hmm, well I get the impression he didn't have that much shit on him each time. So I reckon putting him away is a bit harsh.

Maybe that's the secret -- swallow it just before the cops bust you...

He's tragic and really needs to clean up his act! He od'd so many times that the Libertines kicked him out. Rehab obviously isn't working for him. Clean yourself up Pete!

But Kylie, he loves his drugs. It's like telling me I can't have my laptop, or my PSP. If only someone weened him off drugs by slowly swapping them with mixed herbs. Maybe then he'd have a penchant for fine cuisine.

Hmm.. the possibilities..

Love the work, Kylie.

AnthonyB,

I love it (in fact, nearly spit my morning Diet Coke across my pc!). I can just see Pete getting high or oregano and basil....or coriander and chilli when he really wants a good buzz!!

Don't tell me you have a laptop and PSP addiction? Do you get cold sweats and shake when you can't use them? If you're not close by one, do you suddenly grab the nearest calculator and try desperately to program it (or at least spell words using numbers? You know if you press 77345 and then turn your calculator upside down you can spell Shell).

You know the first step is admitting you have a problem. We can probably find a 12-step program for you. lol
