Just in case you hadn't heard.....Paris is back in Jail
June 12th 2007 00:16
I would have posted about this on the weekend. But I moved into my new house 3 weeks ago and to be honest.......I can't find all the parts of my computer!! So instead I had to wait until today to give an update on Paris Hilton.
As you all know, Paris was released from prison last Thursday by the LA County Sheriff's Department due to her fragile mental health. She was however ordered to a attend a hearing on Friday after the prosecutor in her case filed a motion to Judge Michael Sauer that the Sheriff's Dept was in contempt of court for releasing Hilton.
The outcome of the hearing was that Paris was ordered BACK to jail to serve out the remainder of her sentence. While the judge didn't give any reason for his ruling, it was apparently obvious that he was less than impressed that the Sheriff's Dept had ignored his original instructions that house arrest was not an option for Paris Hilton.
Following the hearing, Paris was taken to the the Twin Towers correctional facility in LA where she underwent medical and psychiatric evaluation.
The Sheriff defended his decision to allow Paris to serve her sentence from home telling the media that the Lynwood facility where Paris was staying is overcrowded and didn't have room for such a low-level offender like Paris. He also indicated that her mental problems had been getting worse and and he "couldn't trust her tenuous state".
Paris decided not to appeal the judge's decision, releasing the following statement:
"Today I told my attorneys not to appeal the judge's decision. While I greatly appreciate the Sheriff's concern for my health and welfare, after meeting with doctors I intend to serve my time as ordered by the judge.
This is by far the hardest thing I have ever done. During the past several days, I have had a lot of time to reflect and have already learned a bitter, but important lesson from this experience.
As I have said before, I hope others will learn from my mistake. I have also had time to read the mail from my fans. I very much appreciate all of their good wishes and hope they will keep their letters coming.
I must also say that I was shocked to see all of the attention devoted to the amount of time I would spend in jail for what I had done by the media, public and city officials. I would hope going forward that the public and the media will focus on more important things, like the men and women serving our country in Iraq, Afghanistan and other places around the world."
Paris was extremely upset to be back in prison, with sources telling TMZ that she had been crying, praying and very withdrawn the first few days back in jail. She's now said to be depressed and withdrawn, but has stopped crying.
TMZ is reporting that the possible reason for Paris' initial release from prison was due to the fact that the young heiress suffers from extreme ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) and claustrophobia. In addition to this, Paris was not receiving all of her medication when she was originally housed at Lynwood. As a result, she was suffering from severe panic attacks while she was in jail.
Paris has spoken to Barbara Walters since being back in prison (as you do!) and told her that while she used to play dumb, but that act is now over. According to Barbara, upon her release, Paris will take on causes such as breast cancer or multiple sclerosis, and is looking at opening the Paris Hilton Playhouse where disabled children can play.
We'll see how long the 'new' Paris Hilton sticks round once she's out of jail!!

I kind of feel sorry for her. But hey, you do the crime, you do the time.

I agree... and it is sad, but as I said, can you imagine how much good this woman could do, if she 'crosses over,' and uses her money for good - stops leading teenagers down the path to oblivion... it may not matter when there is plenty money, but it's not good for those without it...
You know I feel sorry for her big time already. Imagine, she will never know if a man truly loves her or not, ever, in this lifetime ... or if there's a camera in her toilet bowl?
That's gotta be hard to bear...no?

Obviously this guy does not read nor watch TV.
This act of hers?...call me a sin-ic (because if it is true then I have sinned by being nasty...it's so much fun...)...sounds a bit Michelle Leslie to me.
She could have still "played dumb" whilst "taking on causes".
I think she should do a cover version of 'Jailhouse Rock' and donate the profits(?) to her cellmates who have had to put up with her ridiculous behaviour.
She might have garnered some respect if she had been stoic and just took the consequences on the chin...but what the hell, why should she care, right?.... look at the amount of time I have devoted to this comment about her!...and I don't really care either way about this girl.
Sheesh.

Thank goodness you're back on Orble. I wondered what had happened to Paris.

I was reading that Paris didn't eat or drink anything for the first two days back in the slammer because she was terrified that one of the guards would snap a pic of her on the toilet with their mobile phone. That's a bit sad.......but then again, hey, nobody has ever courted the media quite the way Paris does. This is her payment I guess.
Dusk,
The stoic road was definitely the one to take. I mean yes, jail is scary. But seriously, she's in a room by herself! That's not THAT scary. Though my guess is that Paris doesn't do 'alone' very well.
David,
All the news that's worth knowing!!! That's what I like to provide

Flashes of memories
wow the goings on of Paris hey? I am amazed to hear that she was worried that the guard would snap her on the loo... considering the other 'strike a pose' positions that she has been caught in!
I think all the media hype, as with any, is completely ridiculous... she should be made to do the time like any other person. Hopefully out of all of this she will actually change her ways and do some good... perhaps the Judge`s original intention? I still do feel sorry for her... anyone who has to learn the hard way has my sympathy vote.... even if she has her millions to return to!

Hell, George W was a cokehead......and is about as intelligent as Paris Hilton. So she might just be president one day!!!
Ash,
Yeah, we'll see if it changes her in anyway. Hopefully for the better. I feel a bit sorry for her.
