Rumours of a Wham! Reunion, Just Careless Whispers!

April 11th 2007 03:31
Sorry folks. I hate to break the bad news to you, but it looks like our prayers of a Wham! reunion tour won't be answered. Who

George Michael had this to say about a possible reunion:

"It would be almost as bad as The Sex Pistols when they reformed. I've never been tempted because Wham! was of its time. When the group started Andrew and I were both kids.

"We were at an age where how you were developing as a person was just as important as the songs you were writing. It all made sense then but at this point, a Wham! reunion doesn't make any sense."

C'mon George, does it make sense that Take That have reunited? Does it make sense for New Kids on the Block to be considering a reunion? (don't laugh, rumours are abound that they're planning on it!). Does it make sense that Kiss have reunited and done 400 farewell tours? Of course it doesn't. But it's fun anyway. Besides, the music you make these days....well....it kinda sux. In the words of Regurgitator, "I like your old stuff better than your new stuff!"

C'mon George....don't leave me hanging like a yoyo!!!

Disclaimer: I'm a child of the 80's okay. I was a fan of Wham! before any of us figured out that George was gay!!!! It's perfectly acceptable for me to still like Wham!

Wake me up before you go go.... song smithing genius.....

Have to say though we changed these lyrics
You put the boom-boom into my heart
You send my soul sky high when your lovin' starts

to this after the "revelation"
You put the ball sack into my mouth
It sends my d**k sky high when the pumpin' starts

So sad
Mis

Mis,

Hehehe....I love it!

Forget Simon & Garfunkle or Lennon & McCartney as the song writing geniuses of our time. They had nothing on George Michael and Andrew Wridgley!!! : )

Mrs M - yes, I know it's sensible to leave them in the 80's........but they're so fun!!!

Awww, I didn't even know of the rumour but I am so disappointed....although in reality it probably would've been a disappointing farce. I saw Pet Shop Boys the other weekend at the V Festie and they really weren't good. I tried to help them by singing vehemently with them, but it was no good....they were tooo.....old......I can barely say the words......snifff......

Tracy,

They might have been a let down. I didn't go to the V Festival the night of the Pet Shop Boys.....I went to see the Pixies the next night - no disappointment there!!!

I heard they were brilliant, I really wanted to see both gigs but didn't have enogh money...ah welll......glad you enjoyed them, I loved them and Groove Armada the most....Beck seemed a bit down, he was very somber.....

Tracy - yes, I couldn't afford both either! A friend went to both nights and she also said that Groove Armada were great. She thought they should have headlined instead of Pet Shop Boys.

7 greatest George Michael compositions:

1. Everything She Wants
2. Careless Whisper (co-penned with "Ridgley")
3. Club Tropicana (co-penned with "Ridgley")
4. Hand to Mouth
5. Fastlove
6. Amazing
7. Star People

After Martin Scorsese, George is the person I'd love to sit next to on a long international flight. Would love to pick his brains over music ... (maybe even smoke a jay with the man)

Bryn,

Hand to mouth. I'd almost forgotten that song....that was a great song.

I'd definitely spark up a spliff with George. I reckon he'd have some great stories to tell about the music industry!!
