At least that's what the National Enquirer and Star Magazine are claiming. The Simple Life star is reportedly being treated for an eating disorder and substance abuse.

According to the reports in the papers, Nicole checked into Beau Monde Treatment Centre on May 11, weighing a tiny 83lbs (approx 37 kgs). Richie is allegedly being treated for anorexia and a pill addiction. From May 19th she began the outpatient treatment from May 19th.

It's been a tough couple of weeks for Nicole. Stories have been circulating stating that Nicole's boyfriend, Joel Madden has dumped her for being too clingy while they were in Australia. Though, in Nicole's defense, she was probably only clinging to Joel because she didn't have the strength to stand up on her own (5'2" and 37kgs - that's a BMI of 15.2......seriously underweight). If he dumped her for being a vapid pain in the ass.....well, that would be understandable.

Of course, The National Enquirer and Star Magazine are hardly the most reliable of sources. So we'll wait and see if anyone else can confirm the story. If the story is true, then lets all hope she gets the help she needs!

Wendi - from what I've seen, that pic isn't altered! She's very petite normally, but that is not at all healthy.

Yeah, I'd say this goes a bit beyond petite... I'm a vegetarian, and even I want to feed her a burger! She needs to put some meat on those bones!

I feel bad for anyone who suffers from this sort of illness because it's not just physical, it's psychological, and that says so much. I do hope she finds the help she needs.
