Lindsay Lohans Thoughts on Robert Altman

November 24th 2006 02:40
Lindsay Lohan yesterday released a self written statement about the passing of movie maker Robert Altman. Her statment says...........

I would like to send my condolences out to Catherine Altman, Robert Altmans wife, as well as all of his immediate family, close friends, co-workers, and all of his inner circle.

I feel as if I've just had the wind knocked out of me and my heart aches.

If not only my heart but the heart of Mr. Altman's wife and family and many fellow actors/artists that admire him for his work and love him for making people laugh whenever and however he could..

Robert altman made dreams possible for many independent aspiring filmmakers, as well as creating roles for countless actors.

I am lucky enough to of been able to work with Robert Altman amongst the other greats on a film that I can genuinely say created a turning point in my career.

I learned so much from Altman and he was the closest thing to my father and grandfather that I really do believe I've had in several years.

The point is, he made a difference.

He left us with a legend that all of us have the ability to do.

So every day when you wake up.

Look in the mirror and thank god for every second you have and cherish all moments.

The fighting, the anger, the drama is tedious.

Please just take each moment day by day and consider yourself lucky to breathe and feel at all and smile. Be thankful.

Life comes once, doesn't 'keep coming back' and we all take such advantage of what we have.

When we shouldn't..... '

Make a searching and fearless moral inventory of yourselves' -everytime there's a triumph in the world a million souls hafta be trampled on.-altman Its true. But treasure each triumph as they come.

If I can do anything for those who are in a very hard time right now, as I'm one of them with hearing this news, please take advantage of the fact that I'm just a phone call away.

God Bless, peace and love always.

Thank You,

"BE ADEQUITE"

Lindsay Lohan

Now, I'm pleased that Lindsay is thinking about someone other than herself for a change, and that she was moved enough by Robert Altman's death to want to make this statement.
However, is it just me or is this statement rambling and all over the place. Lindsay you have a whole staff of people working for you, perhaps you could have had one of them check this over and at least spell check it. ADEQUITE isn't a word, though I'm assuming you meant adequate Linds.

But then, I'm probably just being a bitch....

Yeah, I'm similarly cyncial of the motivations behind this.

Just recently she's been spotted with pictures from the media of laceration marks on her wrists and a doctors call from a suspected overdose an "insider" adds - so I'm wondering if it's not a publicity stunt from her to up her own approval ratings.
From memory I can't recall her ever being in an Altman film, probably cause it's doubtful he'd ever cast her in anything other than to highlight her degradation in the industry but also cause her acting "skills" don't match this director. So why would she say this now?

Justin,

I was trying to think of an Altman movie that she'd been in as well, and couldn't think of one (granted, I'm not an Altman expert).

But it does seem likes she's trying to get public sympathy all of a sudden. I've also seen pics of her with a 90 day medal (of the AA 90 days sober kind). And yet, she's out partying every night, so I'm not thinking that she's off the booze.

Who knows what she's doing.

Hey, are you sure she even wrote this? Seems a bit hoaxy.

But, yeah, don't bitch about poor Linds. What's the point, for instance, in complaining about the prose style of a 10-year-old?

The Altman film she was in was a Prairie Home Companion...

As if Lindsey Lohan had even seen a Robert Altman film before she worked with him. Actually, she probably still hasn't seen an Altman film.

It's as bad as when Dakota Fanning gushed about how chuffed she was to be working with Robert De Niro and how she thought he was a 'screen legend'... she's like, what, 8 years old? How many De Niro films can she have seen aside from 'Meet the Parents' and 'Rocky and Bullwinkle'?

Hi Kylie,

This is totally off-topic but are you familiar with Ted Casablanca's Toothy Tile blind items? If so, who do you think it might be? )

I'm with you, Kylie! It doesnt even make sense and "Be adequite" no matter how you spell it, doesnt seem like a great message. It's like "Be mediocre", "Blend in", "Just barely hang in there"... I think the girl has a lot of issues!

Luke, I have to defend Dakota. She's a pretty advanced child. Watch her in interview. I think she might actually know what she's talking about and she's extremely focused! I think it's an insult to compare her to the above

Yeah, but I really doubt her parents would've let her watch 'Taxi Driver' or 'Raging Bull', so she could hardly be called a real De Niro fan.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the comments (didn't get a chance to look at anything over the weekend).

Postmodern Critic - I haven't heard of Ted Casablanca's Toothy Tile Blind Items.....I'm going to go and find out what it is.

Postmoderncritic,

Thanks for the site. That's great. People really seem convinced is Jake G don't they? I wouldn't have thought so, but then hey, who knows.

I love it. I'm hooked on these sites.

Thanks again

I think it'd be cute if it was Jake, but I think it's wishful thinking... like "wouldn't it be terrific if a famous, young, gorgeous Hollywood actor came out?"

I'd love to see that. Cute, talented and gay!

And he's been spending lots of time with Matthew McConnaughy and Lance Armstrong while he's training to play Lance.....and there were certainly plenty of rumours about those two going round at one stage.

Oh, me too! ;o)

Speaking of Lance Armstrong, did you watch the ESPY's? He delivered a truly tasteless joke (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KeSNIkhwLwY) that almost got edited out... I couldn't believe my ears! O

Ha! I hadn't seen that. That's brilliant. Totally tasteless....but brillliant!!! Poor Jake.

I'm impressed with Lance's delivery. He's very at home on the stage isn't he? Usually watching sportspeople talk is excrutiating.

I'm still giggling about that joke. I can't believe he said that. Jake seemed to be a good sport about it.

He presented an award later on in the show and prefaced it with "I'm going to let the beginning of the show go..."

Wow, what an idiot. Here's hoping that Lohan's undeserved 15 minutes of fame are about up. Yet another sad example that, in Hollywood, appearance means far more than (awful) acting ability, (hilariously low) intelligence and (a complete lack of) personality and character.

I think Lindsay's star is on the wane. Her last hit was Mean Girls...and that was about 3 years ago. She better watch out. Hollywood will only let you get away with acting like she does if you bring in the cash. Don't bring in the dollars and they'll dump your ass (just ask Tom Cruise).
