Keifer is Heading to Jail
October 10th 2007 23:17
No that's not a plotline twist in 24. Keifer Sutherland is actually heading to jail. Keifer pleaded no contest to a drink driving charge in court yesterday.
While sentencing won't be held until December 21, it's expected that Keifer will be heading to jail to serve 18 days for violating his parole (for a drink driving offense in 2004) and a further 30 days for Driving Under the Influence.
Keifer's sentence isn't expected to cause any disruption to filming of 24. Fox released a statement to the media saying:
Today our friend Kiefer Sutherland resolved his criminal case at the earliest opportunity. Kiefer made clear to us at the time of his arrest that his first concern was the welfare of those he worked with and that he intended to do whatever was necessary to prevent shutting down the show because of his situation. He told us that even if he had to sacrifice more time in custody in order to protect the show and the jobs of those who work with him, he would do so. From what occurred today, it is evident he is a man of his word. We wish him well and look forward to a long relationship with him.
Keifer also released a statement to the media:
I'm very disappointed in myself for the poor judgment I exhibited recently, and I'm deeply sorry for the disappointment and distress this has caused my family, friends and coworkers on 24 and at 20th Century Fox. I appreciate the support and concern that has been extended to me these last weeks both personally and professionally.
You know, given Hollywood's obsession with all things reality tv, I'm wondering how long it's going to take Fox or MTv to start filming "Prison with Celebrities" or perhaps "Maximum Celebrity Prison"? Keifer, Paris, Nicole, Lindsay, Lane Garrison, Tom Sizemore....and the list is growing by the day!!!

Mis - yes, he does sound remorseful. Of course, more helpful than remorse is taking a bloody cab when you're drunk
Michaelie - It's getting higher by the minute!!

Brilliant concept Kylie gurrlish!!!
I can see it all now; we follow the hapless stars from the arrest, into charging room, finger printing and of course a stylish photo shoot for the mug shot, to lawyer's conference, court and then into the "Celebrity Slammer"
Of course the stars could not be expected to mix with the hoi poli, but they could have servants from the general gaol population, and the bars could be glitter ball mirrored, LOTS of chintz, big puffy MAX CORRECTION embroidered satin pillows made by inmates on death row for their favourite star, Jail House Rock playing in the background, the warders all in sequins, feather boas for restraining the inmates, padded pink cuffs, and on the ermine and jewel studded walls, mug shots of past "jail birds" (American spelling...) and each episode we get to look into their past and what got them into gaol, as the poster comes alive!
I could go on...and on.....and on....
but I'll save you lovely!...this time!
Can't wait to see the show!!
cheers

P.S.
And for the next season...when the "jails" are empty, a new show.....
"CELEBRITY PADDED CELL"
..."when stars implode!"

Foggy - HAHAHA....I love it. We need to story board it and present it to Fox!
Louie - oh yes. I like the idea of the hannibal lecter cell. Ah good ol' Pablo eh...
Mrs M - Good Celebrities Go Bad. I like it. Simple and to the point. I might have to workshop that as a title
Damo - hehehehehehe.....in bad taste...yet very funny!

ok...now we actually could story board it, not that it will get anywhere...maybe...but lets come up with a one page treatment in 'mindless cocaine addled mind bites', so the execs can keep their concentration....believe me it's true...and you never know...I can get it to...people...
By the way, maybe the hook could be involving a bit of Louie gurrl's idea, designing their own cell, (which they pay for and/or bring in some of their own stuff from home) but maybe that can be added to by public vote, as a surprise when they go in the slammer, like a treadmill to work the lights and TV....hehe...and a percentage of proceeds of the show goes towards real disadvantaged prisoners for rehabilitation...like building halfway housing, with basic food needs and then training and job placement???
What usually happens is, you send them the idea, they like it, tell you no way, then wait a year or two and change it slightly and do it themselves...coz they just don't have enough MILLIONS AND MILLIONS of bucks...however...maybe someone I knew years ago might like the idea....tee hee....and he would have to stay honest about it....OOOOhhhhhAAAAAHhhh!!
wanna give it a go??...private email me and I spill the beans....!!!

I love it! I especially love the idea of treadmills to generate lights. Ha, imagine that! Paris Hilton got rashes because the cotton of her bed sheets wasn't 1000 thread count. Wait till she has to power her own lights!
I'll PM you.....
