Golden Globes Red Carpet

January 16th 2007 02:38
It's awards season folks. Just about my favourite time of year. Last week it was the People's Choice Awards, today it's the Golden Globes. The Golden Globes are my favourite, if only because there's the possiblity of a star having to give an acceptance speech after one too many champagnes!

The Golden Globes are currently underway, but the stars have already done the red carpet so I thought I'd post a few pics of the stars arriving.

I hope The Departed and The Devil Wears Prada win best motion pictures...the rest of them aren't really my thing.

Im trying to decide if I'd prefer Little Miss Sunshine or Thankyou For Smoking win the musical/comedy one.

I haven't actually gotten around to seeing most of the other movies.

Nice to see a few Aussie connections there still.

I still get annoyed sometimes though at the fact that not all of them have been released here, so sometimes you're comparing movies you actually have seen and heard about with an unknown quantity.

Hiya KW....

I don't care who or what wins...it's just enough to get nominated!

Angelina looks very very jolie...

Is this totally wrong that I'm looking at her and not at her manbag??

Hope you're well Kylie.

MelissaA - it does make it hard when I've never heard of some of the movies mentioned!

Dusk - oh, was there a bloke in the picture with Angelina???? She's divine.

JohnDoe - it's only a matter of time till those awards are televised. I like your predicitions. For Academy's I usually have a competition with my friends (as part of an Academy Awards dinner party I host.....I really really love award shows. Hell, I even watch the Logies) I shall use your predictions as my guide!

Hi KylieW,

I dont think any of my selections will win.

Escpecially not at the Golden Globes, which is only a haresbreath away from being as out of touch as the MTV movie Awards or the Emmy's........they never choose films that breakground or push the limits........at least Aaron Eckhart got mentioned, he has been a fave of mine since Neil La Bute's In the Company of Men.

Thank You For Smoking was my fave film of the year, though I dont know if its the best, big difference.

JohnDoe - Aaron Eckhart was inspired in In the Company of Men. I totally hated him. He was vile. Great performance.

Bhumika - I can't watch tennis on tv, so I was pleased to have the GG's to watch instead.

JoeBloggs - she is a little Sophia. Is it just me or is Brad looking more Robert Redford by the day???

Yes, I said the same thing, KylieW. Brad could almost pass for Robert Redford. Angelina's face scares me, slightly. I just knew Hellen Mirren would make a killing. Very happy to see Warren Beatty get awarded for, basically, being Warren Beatty and, of course, being old.

Dieudonne'

I really liked Tom Hanks intro for Warren Beaty. He did a great job of it.

I was really pleased to see Helen will....and didn't she look fantastic!!

Saw the Warren Beatty moment, the man is a legend........very pleased that Forrest Whitaker won, I love the guy.

He is a legend! I loved his comments to Jack and Clint.

How much of a good time was Jack Nicholson having? Love Jack.

I thought of you when they announced Forest Whitaker. He's such an underrated actor.

Nice one and yes it is always fun to see Jack coking off his tits in the front row....

You don't see enough old dudes coked to the eyeballs on tv these days. Jack Nicholson and Keith Richards......keeping it surreal.

But Brad Pitt OMFG, slap some green paint on him and behold the Grinch. He, unlike many Hollywood men does not age very well.

Comment by KylieW

LisenE - hehe, that's hilarious!

I was actually thinking that Brad is more attractive now that he's older and craggier than he used to be.

I saw an interview of Angelina from Access Hollywood and she seemed aloof, almost rude. What's wrong with her? Are they fighting?

Hi Hope,

Well there's been rumours that they are breaking up ever since her and Brad got together, so who knows. They seemed reasonably affectionate with each other at the golden globes (I was taking notice due to the rumours....who knows if it was an act or not).
