Remember to Be Nice to the Little People
April 10th 2007 02:35
Jessica Alba recently revealed that when she worked on Beverly Hills 90210 in 1998 that she was contractually forbidden from making eye contact with the stars of the show.
According to Alba, "you wouldn't be allowed to talk to them unless they spoke to you first. It was bizarre. But I guess that's what happens when you become a big star".
And just where are those big stars now? Oh that's right.....nowhere. Maybe the 'stars' should have talked to a few more people who were in the show.....networked a little. Maybe they'd have jobs now if they did.

And yes, Shannon could definitely turn you to stone with just a single look. She's scary!
Kleo - crazy huh? What kind of weird place is it that they pander to these actors with ridiculous requests like that???

I didn't OD on chocolate...just had my usual quota...about a tonne...however...I did OD on hot make me cross-eyed buns....yes Larkham was on fire....ouch...
The funny thing is...this is true. This does happen. I have friends in the 'industry', who have worked with some pretty big names and well...
I know that one very esteemed and highly respected actress, of of 'Our' own, insists on this. Apparently it interferes with her craft and 'zone'.
Whatever.

Crikey, well I'd hate to interfere with her 'craft'! Honestly, they're actors. Not brain surgeons.
Oh well......hehe, I'm quietly giggling at the thought of star's going mental because some extra had the temerity to look them in the eye!

Film & TV on DVD
Anyway most big stars and evidently 90210 stars who are wrapped in their own egos (Tom Cruise, Julia Roberts etc) have similar clauses where eye contact is forbidden. I remember people commenting on it when MI2 was being shot in Sydney....totally agree its retarded and if you cant do your job properly without that kind of condition then you dont deserve 30 million a film....or a million an episode which is what I think the 90210 stars were making in its peak.

You're right....surely if you're so good as to command $30M for a couple months works, then surely you should be good enough to do it with people looking at you.
