Brownlow Fashion Faux Pas
September 26th 2006 04:45
Sure they're not Hollywood celebrities, but the Brownlow Medal really is the Academy Awards of the AFL Football community and attracts more than it's fair share of B grade celeb's, and more importantly lets all the footballers wives and girlfriends frock up. Some girls frock up well, other look truly terrible.
Here's quick run down on the best and worst of Football's Night of Nights:
While the Brownlow may be Football's Night of Nights, nobody cares what the guys are wearing. It's all about the ladies frocks, and last night was no different.
Unfortunately however, there were very few standouts. Most of the females seem to think that a good frock must show more than it covers. Sadly, that isn't the case.
My picks for worst outfits are:
Rachel McLeod. Wife of Adelaide star Andrew McLeod. Rachel seemed to think that having her husbands number put on her back would be stylish. Rachel apparently is very stupid, because there's nothing good about that. I haven't even bothered to show the full dress (which wasn't too bad), because it doesn't matter how good the dress is, that body art is just too tragic.
What is it about those South Australian women? Rachael Tredrea, wife of Port Adelaide's Warren Tredrea obviously believes that her breasts are her best asset and felt that they should be shown off.
This look is just plain bad. How she managed to keep her boobs in that dress I'll never know.
The best dressed woman on the night for me, was Sandra Sully, who looked great in a green gown. Unfortunately her make up people should have put a little more eye make up on her, as she looked a little washed out. But fabulous frock.
Unfortunately, when all the guys have to wear black tie, it's hard to pick out any good or bad tuxes. They all look the same. But then the night was never about what the boys would be wearing!
