Britney - For the Record
December 2nd 2008 06:11
All you Britney fans out there (there must be 3 or 4 of you) need to make sure you get in front of a tv tonight at 7.30pm when channel 10 airs the new Britney Spears documentary For the Record. The documentary aired on MTv in the US on the weekend, and will be given it's first showing in Australia tonight.
In the doco, Brit talks about her breakup with Justin Timberlake and Kevin Federline, as well as becoming bat shit crazy, and being a mum. Of course it also features behind the scenes footage and accounts of her pop comeback.
The doco is being billed as a no-holds barred interview with Britney Spears. But of course, that's what they want you to think. According to the LA Times, the show is little more than an attempt to promote Britney's album and fragrance lines and make us all feel sorry for poor little Britney Spears. Wow, a film made by Britney's camp that tries to make her look good and promote her album..........what a shock!!
Britney supposedly invited camera's to follow her for 60 days and no questions would be off-limits. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like too many questions were asked of the Pop Princess.
Britney apparently explains away her breakdown earlier in the year and her clearly psychotic episodes with a "what the hell was I thinking?" Well Britney, I think it's safe to say that you weren't thinking at all.
She then says that she was lonely and devastated after her marriage crumbled and she let "bad people" in to her life. Wow, that makes everything clear now Britney!!
My favourite of Britney's explanations relates to her being asked about her head-shaving incident last year that really announced her breakdown to the world. When asked about the incident, Britney replies by explaining that she was going through a lot of artificial stuff in her life with her kids and Kevin. And besides "everybody shaves their heads."
Hmmm.......firstly, of everything going on in your life Britney, the fact that you label the kids and the break up of your marriage as being "artificial" is a little concerning. Secondly, name me one woman who has just shaved her head for no reason (doing it for a movie doesn't count!!!).
Well, crap or not, I'm sure folks all across the country will be tuning in to see what Britney has to say tonight.
