Okay, so that was probably a rhetorical question........Britney's career has been dead for a while. But it appears as though she may have just nailed the final nail in the coffin of her career this week!
One of Britney's first acts of self-management was to contact OK! Magazine to invite them to her house to hear all about how well she's doing. Unfortunately, the photo shoot was a total DISASTER (I say, while rubbing my hands together with glee!!!!!!!!!!). So bad in fact, that OK! was unsure whether to even run the story as they're pretty sure it is going to kill Britney's career once and for all. Worried? I say OK! is obliged to run the story. Killing Britney's career can only be considered a community service!!!!!
According to OK!'s editor in chief "OK! Magazine spent a heartbreaking day with Britney Spears and witnessed first-hand an emotional cry for help that will leave you shocked and sad. This week, on newsstands Friday, the truth will be told."
OK! told TMZ all about the unmitigated disaster that was their photoshoot with Britney. According to OK!, the photo's were so bad that Britney looked "half dead" in them.
Her behaviour was also very erratic. Brit kept popping off to the bathroom and would return each time in a different mood. She was also very paranoid throughout the interview, at one stage, fearing that the ceiling was going to cave-in (good thing Britney never really needed rehab, otherwise this would sound suspiciously like she was doing drugs in the bathroom. But Brit doesn't do drugs. She had post-natal depression the last time she lost her mind. She doesn't take drugs!).
Britney also showed OK! what a true lady she is during the interview. At one stage she got the munchies and ordered up some fried chicken (does anything say trailer trash quite like southern fried chicken?). After munching down the chicken, she wiped her greasy hands on her several-thousand-dollar gucci dress she'd been given to wear for the photo shoot. Then Britney's dog took a crap all over the floor and Britney used a Chanel dress to clean it up!
And rather than let the hair and make up professionals at OK! try to make Britney look presentable, Brit insisted on using her her own friends (who generally do such a good job of making her look particularly skanky!).
Apparently Britney also complained that the outfits OK! provided for her to wear weren't short enough, tight enough or sexy enough (cos Britney knows what is sexy......~shudder~). She then left the photoshoot part way through, along with approx $14,000 worth of clothes.
OK! apparently won't be running the photo's that they took of their day with Britney however. According to Perezhilton, it's because they had agreed to pay Britney $1M for the photoshoot. However, Britney walked out partway through the shoot, so they're refusing to pay her. Oh, I can't wait to see this week's edition of the magazine!!!!!!!
In more bad news for Britney, Perez is also claiming that her ex, Kevin Federline now wants full custody of their two kids, Sean Preston and Jayden James. Apparently both Britney's mother, and her former assistant (and cousin) Alli, are assisting K-Fed in his quest to have the kids taken from their bat-shit crazy mother!!!!
Gee, it's a good thing Britney doesn't do drugs or abuse alcohol. After a week like this, she'd be drinking and snorting her sorrows away otherwise.

So, at times I think, she just needs a Kman to lock her up somewhere!
I think its premature to say that her career is dead. The capacity for comeback in the industry is unbelievable. In 5 years she could rip out a stunner of an album and everyone would gossip about how well shes done after those dreaded 'dark times' and say what a trooper she was to get through it.....
But this new behaviour is way beyond bizarre. Even I cringed and thought WTF? I cant say Im enjoying it, but Im glad you are. Somebodys got to get something out of it! It is funny in a way, I admit part of me giggles, but mostly I just think, Jesus, lock her up!

Aimzter - Yeah I thought the Katie & Tom headline look like a laugh too.
Kleo -It is sad. Someone needs to step in. She's obviously mental and needs help. I'd feel sorry for her, but she's just so stupid, that even if she was capable of recognising that she needs help, she wouldn't get it. It's a big ask to think that her career will recover though, if only because of the fact that she doesn't really have that much talent. It's not like she writes her own stuff or anything. If she was actually a talented singer/songwriter, I think she could come back from that. At the moment, she's a trainwreck. I know I shouldn't look......but i can't help it!!!

Id say Brits at that stage where you refuse to admit somethings wrong with you. Jackos in the same box. When you have millions to throw around, no one can tell you somethings wrong. I was just put under lock and key. No argument. Thats not really possible when you can kick your way out of anything with a few million.

Then again, I can't believe that Britney was so popular in the first place, so I'm no judge of who is going to make it big!!! So maybe she will come back.
I think you're right though that she's at a place where she can't see what is wrong. Her bloody mother should have stepped in a long time ago. They created this monster and then just sat back and got rich off her. They bloody well owe her. Hopefully she gets the help she needs. And soon!!!!
