An LA judge has dismissed the case bought against Borat (Sacha Baron Cohen) by two US frat boys!
The two college boys were suing the producers and distributors of the Borat movie, saying that they were duped into agreeing to be in the movie after the producers got them drunk and promised them the movie wouldn't be shown in the US.
In the movie, the two students appear in a scene where Borat gets drunk with the boys in a motor home while they watch a sex tape and make racists remarks about slavery and minorities in the US.
The boys were hoping to have their parts in the movie cut out, as they feared it would tarnish their reputation. The students claim that the movie had cost one of the students a job at a major corporation and the other a prestigious internship.
However, the LA Superior Court judge ruled that they had failed to show a reasonable probability of success on the merits of their case or that money damages alone would be insufficient to resolve their claims...............whatever that means!
While I don't understand the jargon, I'm just pleased that their case was thrown out! What it's okay to be a redneck racist.....as long as people in your own country don't know???
And, funny how major corporations don't want small minded rednecks working for them huh?
For once, the US legal system seems to have shown some common sense! Yayy!!!
