Or should that be Lane? As in Wisteria Lane. Rumour has it that Desperate Housewives will get a new gay couple moving into the neighbourhood next season. According to Hollyscoop, Housewives creator Marc Cherry is looking to get Robbie Williams and David Beckham to play the couple.
According to Cherry, "David and Robbie are perfect to star as the new neighbors' best friends; the gorgeous, eccentric couple flown over from Blighty (Britain)."
Cherry says that Becks is very keen to take on the role. While it seems that David wanted Tom Cruise to play his partner, Cherry thinks that Robbie "matches him in height and well, Britishness, so Robbie is the one. They're both funny, game for a laugh and ridiculously macho, so it should work wonderfully... the English are pitch-perfect for sending themselves up."
Becks acting. Well, we knew it was only a matter of time. And at least playing a gay man, he won't have to worry about disguising that high pitched voice of his.
Tom Cruise as Becks gay lover. Not that far fetched if you ask me.
I'm assuming, should this story be true, that David will film the show around his soccer commitments. And presumably the LA Galaxy will be thrilled to hear that the man they've paid $300M for is dividing his energies equally between soccer and acting. Though he's yet to play a full game for his new team, due to an ankle injury.
In more Becks news, just because I happen to love him, David is the new face of the Motorola RAZR2. Hmmm......suddenly I have a yearning for a new phone!
Yep, Becks is more than just a pretty face. He's a soccer player, aspiring actor, and lets not forget.....blogger.
That's right, Becks has posted another entry on his blog at www.davidbeckham.com. Check it out. Obviously someone is censoring Becks, cos it's a little bland. I think what Becks really wanted to say was:

My good friend Tom Cruise and new friend Will Smith threw Vicky and I a great welcome to LA party last week. Did you see the pics? It was an oar-some party. Everyone had a good time. Some people got so drunk that they threw up everywhere. Can you believe it? I'm not sure whether it was all the alcohol, or the sight of Tom and Katie dirty dancing that set off the vomit spree, but it was pretty funny.
I'll let you in on a secret. I've been in talks with the people who make Desperate Housewives. I might be joining the show as a gay man! My partner would be Robbie Williams. I wanted Tom, but the producers said he's too short and creepy. I think that's a bit mean. I really like Tom. I think they don't want Tom for the part because they think it'll cost too much to be constantly replacing couches. Vicky and I are now on our 5th couch. Tom really really likes to jump on couches.
Anyway, watch out for me coming to a tele near you. On Desperate Housewives......not playing soccer. It'll probably be sometime in 2009 before my ankle is ready for me to play again.

I've only ever watched a couple of episodes. It just doesn't do it for me at all. But I'd sit through all kinds of crappy shows to watch Nathan and Becks!!!
I must admit the name Nathan Fillion didn't ring a bell for me at first. Had to look him up on the internet. Once I saw his pic, I remembered him. He is WAY hot! I loved him in that show Firefly (and the accompanying movie, Serenity). Mmmmmmmmmm.............

I really enjoyed Firefly......and I eventually bought Serenity on dvd so that I have Nathan available at the touch of a button (and the Dr Guy.....very nerdy and cute!!!)
But spice up DH with a few hotties and I'll perhaps watch it.....mmmmm.
